"Teacher Ivan's House" restaurant
"Teacher Ivan's House" restaurant was built and furnished in the style of an old Bulgarian tavern from the beginning of the 19-th century. Visitors find here the romantic spirit of bygone times, the cosiness and warmth of a big fireplace, and the pleasure of dining under vines of drooping grapes.
The restaurant's capacity is 80 seats indoors, and 40 seats in the summer terrace.
The menu of "Teacher Ivan's House" includes traditional meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, cooked in accord with old Bulgarian recipes, as well as international cuisine. In addition to the delicious food the restaurant offers an impressive choice of wine and aperitifs.

My wife and I stayed at the California for five nights. The hotel is in a very quiet residential area of Sofia. Trams are about a 10 min walk, taxis also nearby. Better take a taxi as you have to pay for a new ticket each time you have to change the tram/bus.
