While Sofia is not that big, we did find the Arte Hotel well placed for both sightseeing and shopping. We were here to see the sights, but we wanted to spend the last day shopping for clothes. Vistosha Street seems to be the shopping street downtown.

This hotel has great promise - the owner has done a superb job of renovating the building, the rooms have soft comfortable beds and flat screen TVs. The only real problem, and it was a big one, was the air conditioning hardly worked. Unfortunately, this ...
